Details: 2001 BMW 540i. 6 speed manual transmission. 137000 miles on it. This car is VERY clean. There is not a scratch on it. It´s been kept up very well. The engine is in great condition. I change the oil every 4-5,000 miles. the oil was last changed about 3,000 miles ago. Interior is in excellent condition, too. The driver seat has normal leather wear but it´s not bad at all. I got into a fender bender about 8 or 9 months ago, it wasn´t bad (the hood was pushed up a little bit, and the radiator support was bent a little). There was absolutely no damage done to the engine. I rear-ended someone going literally 10mph at a stop light. My insurance allowed me to get the entire front end redone, except for the front fenders. So it has a brand new hood, brand new headlights, brand new radiator support, brand new radiator, and a brand new ///M series style front bumper. The work was done by Maggio´s Collision in Denham Springs. I was highly recommended by GermanAuto to go there. I have all the paperwork. I put a brand new clutch and flywheel in it, which has only 700 miles on them as of now, and while I was installing that, I went ahead and replaced the rear main seal and the water cover plate(which is right above the rear main seal) Overall this car is in excellent condition. I drive it everyday, it drives and runs great. The shifting and clutch is nice and very smooth. The handling is exceptional. This car gets 23-30 mpg in the city, 20-25 on the highway. I know this because it calculates mpg in the computer. It really depends on how you drive it. If you drive it easy, it will get excellent gas mileage, even though it is a V8. I´ve gotten up to 37-40mpg driving around town. Everything electrical works fine, also. Windows, door locks, alarm system, sunroof, traction control, ABS, rear sun visor, etc. The one thing that would need to be replaced, but isn´t that important is the window motor in the rear driver-side door. I´ve looked at it myself and saw that the plastic piece that the cable coils on it eaten up. I don´t use the back windows at all so I had no reason to replace it. A new one costs around $150-200, depending on where you get it from. Other than that, there is not a problem with this car. The reason I´m selling this car is so I can go back to school, and going from working full time to part time can´t pay for this car. Kelly Blue Book value for this car as it sits is $8619. It´s fully loaded, comes with every option that was available in 2001. I promise, you will not be disappointed with this car. It´s worth at least looking at. You can contact Brandon at 225-354-6127.
