This is the same basic car as the 320i in the US, but with a smaller, non-fuel injected engine. The 1983 533i version was rated the ´fastest sedan sold in America!´ (obviously during that year, but still its claim to fame. . .).The Good:-Engine and transmission run great - these engines are bulletproof. 147,000 miles, but these engines are made to go 200-300K miles--you see a lot of cars from this generation with those high miles and still running great.-New fuel pumps -- both the tank pump and the external/secondary pump-New computer -- when I bought it, it wasn´t running well--turned out the old owner put in a wrong relay that was frying the computer--so new computer and relay were corrected.-Custom wheels and tires - gives it a great look.-Leather seating in decent shape -- driver´s seat had the seat bottom re-upholstered.What needs work:-Exhaust system needs some work -- it´s running pretty loud right now due to a couple holes-Some rust holes/surface rust on the body-Power windows are getting slow -- passenger rear window needs new motor (isn´t working)-There´s a bearing the driveshaft runs through in the middle of the car (ahead of the rear axle) -- BMW mechanic says it needs replacement due to seals being dried out-Needs general TLC all aroundPlease email with any questions or to set up an appointment to see it.Thanks! Details: YOU WILL NOT FIND A CLEANER ´02 X5! This car truly drives and rides as well as the newer X5´s - they softened the suspension in the newer models and I actually prefer the ride of the E53´s. I am selling my beloved BMW due to a growing family and a need to haul home improvement materials. I bought my BMW from Inver Grove Honda 3 years ago and have done a ton of work to it since I have had it. This vehicle has been adult driven by only me and I have NEVER had the accelerator to the floor. My wife says I drive like an old man but that is only because I want my vehicles to last and be well taken care of. This is my second BMW and I do most of the work myself and I am a bit ridiculous when it comes to maintaining my cars. I am looking to sell this for $1000 less than the blue book price at $12,500 or best offer. Come for a drive -- you will not be disappointed! Call, email or text Jeff at 952-two two four-6633. I have all paperwork for records of service conducted and parts replaced since I have owned the X5.The X5 is Topaz Blue and the interior is beige and black with real Burl wood trim. The X5 has 144,448 on it but I have no doubt that this engine will run for another 100K if well cared for. This engine has been used in the 7 series for the last 20 years so it has been refined and tested over the years. If you are concerned with the reliability of this vehicle - don´t be. I have replace pretty much every part that has been known to fail prematurely on these vehicles as a preventative maintenance. The X5 has a 4.4 liter V8 that gets surprisingly great gas mileage (19.4 on average) and it has a ton of torque. It has leather everything, and it rides like a BMW should. There are NO suspension rattles or noises that should not be there. This is an extremely tight vehicle and the engine runs like a Swiss watch -- I am still able to set a wine glass on the engine while it is running. It is an all-wheel drive drivetrain with traction assist to provide power to the wheels that are not spinning. This thing weighs as much as a suburban and it is fantastic through the snow. If you start sliding, the stability control system kicks in and brings you back in control. The stability control has 3 settings for driving in all weather conditions. I put new Yokohama Avid Envigors on last summer and I have rotated and balanced them every 5000 miles since. I purchased a lifetime balance and rotation at Walmart and also at Discount Tire so you can go to either place for the tire service, which will continue with the sale. I have an extra tire that will go with the X5 as well. They are under a transferrable road hazard warranty for the life of the tire so if you puncture one, they will replace it free. If you need to change out all 4 tires, they will prorate the cost of the new tires based on the tread left on the Envigors. The Envigors have about 75% tread remaining on the tires. I changed the oil at half of the interval required by BMW (7500 miles) and used Valvoline SynPower, which is a BMW approved oil for the M62 engine. This vehicle is a 9/10 -- it is mechanically bulletproof and other than a couple of very minor dings (from other people´s doors) the exterior is very clean. The interior is excellent as well though the driver´s seat has normal aging of the leather.
