Details: 2001 BMW M5 is known by BMW enthusiasts as the Ultimate Driving Machine and is considered by many to be the last, best BMW made. 5.0 Liter V8 pushing almost 400 hp in a 5 person sedan loaded with dual-zone climate control, heated leather seats with eight-way power adjustments, a GPS navigation system, a 10-speaker sound system, one-touch power windows, rain-sensing wipers, etc., etc. This M5 has been adult owned and driven and cared for by a BMW enthusiast (I´ve owned several and this is my favorite, by far). I bought the car with 30k. It has been my daily driver and most of the miles I put on were highway miles. At 65k I replaced the clutch and control arm bushings and since have replaced all the intake and exhaust CPS, MAFs, E-box fan and a key. Most recently, I replaced the thermostat and all the sensors, changed the plugs, fuel filter and air filters. The oil is changed by me every 5k. It has a magnaflow cat-back exhaust which dropped a great deal of weight and gives it the nice V8 growl without being obnoxious. The short shifter is a BMW factory piece and enhances the driving experience greatly. It also has XM/Sirius satellite radio and DICE ipod adaptor. The driver seat shows a small area of wear on the left lateral bolster, but the rest of the leather looks new. The dash is missing pixels (a common E39 issue). The car still turns heads and gets compliments daily. It runs perfectly and has no leaks, rust or dents. Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires have about 50% rear and 75% front tread. 2 keys, origninal manuals and several navigation discs and Peake code reader. 99,1xx miles. $18,000 or best offer. This car only had 1 previous owner, and I have the carfax from when I bought it. Inside and out, the car still looks brand new. Drives extremely smooth, very quiet, and handles nice. Very sporty and fun to drive with the stick shift! Leather interior has been taken care of, and there are no rips or tears in any of the seats. This car has the premium sport package, meaning it has the bright xenon headlights, the sport steering wheel, front bucket seats, and premium sound. All maintenance has been done regularly. I have custom installed angel eyes on the car (the rings of light around the headlights) that cost about $200, and I just had the windows professionally tinted for $400 (lifetime warranty). This car really is in great condition, and runs perfect. Never had any problems, never been in any accidents. The windshield was replaced last September after it was hit by a golf ball, so the glass is very new. I bought a computer diagnostic system for this car ($200) that plugs in to read any error codes that trigger the check engine light. Never again pay money for a mechanic to read the error, you can read it yourself, and reset the check engine light with this tool. Using this I was able to find and diagnose a leaking tube in the air intake. I replaced the cracked tube for $20, which was quoted as a $400 repair at the dealership! You will save yourself a ton of money with this device. The Kelly Blue Book value for this car is between $7100 and $7600. Add to that the recent purchases, and it is worth at least $8000. However, on the hood and the roof, there are a couple spots where the paint is starting to flake and peel. For this reason I´m dropping the price to $7000, firm. I hate to sell this car, but it is logistically easier to sell it and buy a new car across the country than have to deal with driving it across to the east coast.
